What is Enterprise Social Network?

Enterprise Social Network (ESN) or Internal Social Media (ISM) is a social software used in “Enterprise” contexts. It is often a modification or enhancement of corporate intranets used by companies to organize communication and facilitate collaboration among employees.

Should Internal Social Media be Your Main Communication Platform?

According to ComScore Media Metrix Research, from December 2015 to December 2016, Email Usage has shrunk from 4% to 3% while Social Media Use is growing from 19% to 20%. Unlike email, a largely text-based electronics communication channel invented in 1960’s, Social Media is designed to building communities and social relationships.

Facebook, the most popular consumer social network, has grown tremendously with 2.07 billion monthly active users as of December 2017. Consumers are largely familiar with how social media works, meaning there is little or no user training required to achieve adoption.
